Signature Programs at Rumsey

VIIth Form (Grade 9) students at Rumsey have the unique opportunity to dive deep into a topic that interests them personally! 

 

Arts Concentration Signature Program 

The Arts Concentration program affords students the opportunity to further explore and develop their passion, skills, and creativity through a rigorous complement of arts offerings.  Students may choose to focus on studio art, the performing arts, or a combination of studio and performing arts. Selecting from a wide variety of offerings, students will work with the faculty advisor to create and individualized course of study from offerings in music, theater, or visual arts that supports their personal development as artists.  The program culminates with recital, project or portfolio presentations.

In order to be considered for the Arts Concentration Signature Program, students must meet the following requirements:
 
Students must meet weekly with their faculty advisor to review their individual progress and share a volume of their work with a an audience of faculty and students at the end of the year.  Students must participate in the National Junior Art Honor Society, Orchestra, or Clef Club. Additionally, students must enroll in three of the following offerings:
 
  • Ceramics (term)
  • Metal Working (term)
  • Drawing (term)
  • Painting (term)
  • Dramatic Production (term)
  • Guitar (term)
  • Ukulele (term)
